WTC-GB 90 Weishaupt Thermo Condens gas-fired condensing boiler (modulation range 18.2 to 90 kW)

The 90 kW gas-fired condensing boiler fills the gap between the wall-hung boilers (15 to 60 kW) and the WTC-GB boiler range (120 to 300 kW).

The design of the WTC-GB 90, which can use either natural gas or LPG as its fuel, is based on that of the floor-standing boiler series. The complete range of accessories is available, and the controls technology is identical. New system components provide all the hydraulic and flue-gas-side connections necessary for two of the boilers to be operated in a cascade.

The aluminium heat exchanger has excellent heat transfer properties. This contributes greatly to the energy-efficient operation of the boiler, as do the special arrangement of the water channels and the highly efficient contours on the heating-gas side. Furthermore, the heat exchanger block is provisioned with removable insulation in order to reduce standby heat losses to a minimum.

The homogenous gas/air mixture is converted into heat on the large surface of the cylindrical premix radiant burner. As with all Weishaupt gas-fired condensing boilers, the burner is made from a highly resiliant metal mesh and combustion is both efficient and environmentally friendly. The extremely quiet operation of the premix radiant burner contributes to the convenience of the unit.

An electronic monitoring system uses sensors in the flue gas and in the flow and return to control the thermal efficiency of the WTC-GB. This obviates the need for a minimum volume of circulating water, avoiding an increase in the return temperature which would having a damaging effect on condensing efficiency, and reducing electrical consumption.

To protect the boiler's condensate pan from corrosion caused by the exteme acidity of the condensate in the plastic flues, the high-volume, integral condensate trap has an additional connection so that condensate from the flue-gas conduit can be fed directly into it. This arrangement contributes greatly to ensuring the long service life of the boiler.

Operational noise is effectively reduced by the integrated inlet silencer. Two large inspection chambers provide an optimal view of the interior of the heat exchanger and greatly simplify cleaning. The inspection chambers are located in the heat exchanger block and near the condensate pan.

The WTC-GB is easy to transport and install thanks to its compact dimensions and low weight. To help overcome particularly difficult obstacles, such as narrow, steep staircases, there are pipe couplings welded to the boiler frame into which pipe sections can be screwed to serve as carrying handles.

The modular construction behind the WCM controller system with its shared-platform strategy offers benefits both to the end user and to the heating installer. There are specially tailored modules for the widest range of applications, communicating with each other via eBUS to guarantee precisely the right amount of heat and maximum convenience.
